After doing some thinking, and also walking around in a science museum and just having an idea hit me because that is usually how ideas work with me, I thought into the idea of elements.  A lot of the time in stories, well pertaining mainly to anime and the like, you find the elements being represented by the basic elements seen as fire, water, air, and earth.  What I realized was that elements are also thought of in a different way, and that I have never come across a story that's made use of the actual periodic table of elements when designing characters based upon elements or with powers based upon the elements.
